Many of our museums have senior, AARP and member
discounts. Some small, specialty museums do not allow children check with
museums before you go. Don't forget that if you're a senior, you ride our public transporation for free.
Take advantage of that perk, and visit our museums.
No visit to Pittsburgh would be complete without enjoying a
day-trip to visit to our museums. Especially if you have weekend guests.
We have the traditional art and science museums, but you'll want to visit the

Andy Warhol Museum

Located in Pittsburgh, the place of Andy's birth, The
Andy Warhol Museum holds the largest collection of Warhol’s artworks and
archival materials.
One of the most comprehensive single-artist museums in the
world, and the largest in North America.
The Warhol is one of four Carnegie Museums in Pittsburgh, and a collaborative
project between Carnegie Institute, Dia Art Foundation, and The Andy Warhol
Foundation for the Visual Arts.

most at risk–seniors, visitors with disabilities, or those with compromised
immune systems. We ask that other visitors respect these dedicated

Located in a firehouse in Lawrenceville. Home to one of the largest
collections of items related to the Pittsburgh Pirates legend.
You can view Clemente's gold glove awards, autographed memorabilia, and
photographs..

A local 50's rocker with a massive record collection opened a small
museum of rock memorabilia- guitars, clothing, photos. It is next to his much
larger record shop.
Exhibits include national recording artists and Pittsburgh's own legends.

Hunt Institute for Botanical
Documentation - Research Facility
- located in Carnegie-Mellon University
Hunt Institute specializes in the history of botany and all aspects of plant
science, and it serves the international scientific community through research and
documentation. To this end, the Institute acquires and maintains authoritative
collections of books, plant images, manuscripts, portraits and data files, and
provides publications and other modes of information service.
Rachel Hunt founded Hunt Botanical Library with the intention that it would
conduct its own program of research, while making its collections available for
research by others. Hunt Institute remains committed to making its research collections accessible
to the scientific and scholarly communities.
The current collections include approximately 24,000+ botanical portraits; 200+
archival collections; 32,413 watercolors, drawings and prints; 243,000+
data files.
The USS Requin
Submarine
This sub was commissioned during World War II.
It had a 25-year career in the military, before being de-commissioned in the
70's,
refurbished and transported to Pittsburgh in 1990.
The sub is associated with the Carnegie Science Center, and admission is
included with a ticket to the museum.
You can visit the sub with a separate $7 admission fee, if you're not going to
visit the science museum.

Travel to the “Neighborhood of Make Believe” to see iconic artifacts up
close from the beloved children’s television show that was filmed right
here in Pittsburgh.

to King Friday XIII’s Castle and Mr. McFeely’s “Speedy Delivery”
tricycle, the long-term exhibit houses the largest collection of original items
from the television set on public view. Also on view is a life-like figure of
Mister Rogers, wearing his iconic sweater, necktie, khakis, and sneakers.
P.S. We have a wonderful statue of Mr. Rogers, located along the river. The
river walk is awesome, too.

The Stephen Foster Memorial Museum, is located in the Stephen Foster Memorial on
the University of Pittsburgh's campus.
The Center for American Music is the principal repository for all materials
pertaining to American composer Stephen Foster , considered by many to be America's
first professional composer.
***Starting August 25, 2020, the museum will be open by appointment
only.
To schedule an appointment, please submit the form available at
https://library.pitt.edu/ask-archivist to request access.
Appointments require at least 48 hours advanced notice and may be limited to
certain days and hours due to staff availability.
The number of patrons in our exhibit space is limited to ten to maintain
social distancing.
Please note that all patrons must wear a self-provided mask. As part
of the University of Pittsburgh's efforts to ensure a safe and healthy

Fort Pitt Museum
Point State Park, Downtown Pittsburgh
Open year-round, the Fort Pitt Museum tells the story of Western
Pennsylvania’s pivotal role during the French and Indian War, the American
Revolution, and as the birthplace of Pittsburgh through interactive exhibitions,
life-like figures, and 18th-century artifacts. During
the summer months, you can witness living history in Point State Park as the
Fort Pitt Museum’s colonial re-enactors demonstrate how life was lived during
the 1700s.
